If you’ve spent any time at all trying to write, then you have surely run into the dreaded writer’s block at some point. Here are some ideas to help you get your head out of the sand and rise to the challenge so you can write again.
Inspirational Music. Tune in to some of your favorite songs and get inspired! Oftentimes, it is even better if you choose music that has no lyrics. If you have a favorite movie, then it is likely a good source of inspirational music that is instrumental. Movie themes often lack lyrics but are highly inspirational.
Inspirational Videos. YouTube is filled with videos by your favorite inspirational speaker. Cue your favorite speaker so they can tell you how awesome you are and before you know it you will be keying words so fast your keyboard would cry if it could.
Inspirational Quotes. When you see a quote that inspires you to action. Be sure and save it. I have a running list of quotes that move me to make a difference and writing is one avenue for doing so. Be sure and visit the list occasionally, specifically to remove any quotes that no longer resonate with you. Here are a few of my current favorites.
[shareable cite=”~Hal Elrod, author ‘The Miracle Morning'”]Our outer world will always be a reflection of our inner world.[/shareable]
[shareable cite=”~ Jim Rohn”]Your level of success will rarely exceed your level of personal development, because success is something you attract by the person you become.[/shareable]
[shareable cite=”Benjamin Franklin”]If you would not be forgotten, as soon as you are dead and rotten; Either write things worthy of reading, or do things worthy of writing.[/shareable]
***BONUS***
Visit Nature. If you live by a beach, the mountains, a park on a hill, or anywhere that is even slightly away from your busy, everyday life, spend 15 minutes or so on a quiet walk (no music this time) and take in God’s wonderful creation. Ideas for writing will certainly abound.
Question: Which of these ideas do you find most appealing? Do you have another tip that works well to inspire you to write? Please share in the comments.
